ORIGIN
Broken Pattern emerged from 17 years working in media, brand strategy, and cultural analysis across Southern Africa.
The pattern kept repeating: creators with cultural impact, zero economic capture. Institutions with budgets, zero legitimacy. Strategies built on assumptions that didn’t survive contact with reality.
The problem wasn’t execution. It was position.
THE GAP
There’s a structural gap between influence and income. Between underground credibility and mainstream visibility. Between cultural value and economic capture.
Traditional research frameworks couldn’t see it because they don’t account for absence as signal. They measure what’s present, not what’s systematically missing.
